Our Story
Sitting on a mate’s deck back in 2011 we were yarning about the diverse landscapes New Zealand has to offer. There aren’t many countries where you can be in the mountains in the morning, check out geothermal activity in the afternoon and walk along the beach in the evening.
We decided New Zealand is a great backyard and loved the idea so much we chose it for the name of our new photographic company.
We love meeting new people and capturing their essence. It’s a privilege to be invited into homes and lives for weddings and portraits; we are honoured to be involved.

The
photographer
Corin Walker Bain always had a camera around his neck. Growing up, he’d borrow, scrimp and save to afford film and camera parts. A friend had access to a darkroom so he’d talk his way in and stay there all night.
Working in the darkness as an adventure cave guide offered him a masterclass in light and gave him the skills to access any height or depth, no matter how challenging.
His work has been shortlisted for major awards, featured by Nikon New Zealand, appeared in magazines in China and France, and published in books in Japan and New Zealand.
Corin can see a moment building long before it takes place, and has a helpful knack of being in the right place at the right time.

Brydie Walker Bain is a poet and playwright and keeps the ship at a great backyard sailing smoothly.
You’ll find her checking the details of our next wedding to photograph or charging through the bush with our boys.
She’s also a photographer in her own right, with key images in our collection coming from Brydie’s lens.
